Demo (June 2026)
The public demo introduced the core loop of Snap the Cat. Players could photograph cats in two biomes, access a basic skill tree, and experience the follower and likes system for the first time.
Key demo features:

- Follower and likes system
- No Cat Cafe, no late-game biomes
Community feedback from the demo directly shaped the full release.
Full Release 1.0 (August 25, 2026)
The full game launched on Steam with significantly more content than the demo.
New in 1.0:
- Six additional biomes beyond the demo pair
- The Cat Cafe with character dialogue
- Tier 2 and Tier 3 skill tree nodes
- Token Drop Rate system
- 12-language localisation including full French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and more
- New costumes and three additional cats
- Achievement list expanded to 49 total
- Steam Cloud save support
- Steam Deck verified with touchscreen controls
Patch notes also addressed demo issues:
- Improved likes feedback clarity
- Reduced repetition in mid-game upgrade descriptions
- Fixed translation inconsistencies reported in the demo
Patch 1.0.1 (August 2026)
- Fixed crash when opening the skill tree with fewer than 100 tokens
- Improved Steam Cloud sync reliability on macOS
- Added additional language support for Traditional Chinese
- Fixed achievement tracking for rare milestone conditions
Current known issues
As of the last update, the following issues are known and being tracked:
- Occasional freeze when rapidly switching between biomes (workaround: wait two seconds between switches)
- Steam Cloud conflict on shared Steam Deck / PC accounts (workaround: manually save before closing)
