Snap the Cat Cats Collection Guide
Every cat, rarity tier, and unlock method in one place.
Snap the Cat features 40 or more cats spread across its 8+ biomes. Each cat has a base rarity, a unique appearance, and contributes differently to your photo sessions depending on the scene and the cat’s pose.
How cats are organised
Cats are grouped by biome. Each biome has a pool of cats that can appear during photo sessions. The pool is not fixed — rarer cats appear more frequently as your skill tree nodes and follower count improve.
Cats also have individual personalities and poses. Some cats naturally adopt dramatic poses while others are more laid-back. This affects the types of photos you can take and is worth considering when planning your sessions.
Rarity tiers
Community consensus has settled on five rarity tiers. From lowest to highest:
Common — appear frequently in early biomes. Base likes multiplier of 1x.
Uncommon — start appearing after you have 500+ followers. Base likes multiplier of approximately 1.5x.
Rare — require 2,000+ followers or specific biome unlocks. Base likes multiplier of approximately 2x.
Ultra-Rare — appear at 10,000+ followers or through pack purchases. Base likes multiplier of approximately 3x.
Legendary — only available through pack purchases or near-100% completion. Base likes multiplier of approximately 5x.
How to get more cats
There are four ways to expand your cat roster:
Follower milestones — as your follower count grows, new cats are automatically added to biome pools. Check your notifications for milestone unlocks.
Pack purchases — spend tokens on packs to draw new cats. Each pack guarantees a cat you do not already own. Packs are discussed in detail in the packs guide.
Biome progression — unlocking new biomes reveals new cats specific to that biome.
Costume collection — some cats are only available in specific costumes or costume combinations.
Cat-specific tips
Not all cats are equal for photography purposes. Some cats have natural poses that score well on the likes system while others require more setup. The tier list page ranks cats by their photography value.
Costumes
Every cat can wear at least one costume. Costumes improve the likes payout and some cats have unique costume combinations that unlock additional bonuses. See the costumes guide for the full breakdown.
Frequently asked
Do I need all 40+ cats to get 100%? No. Completion percentage is based on follower milestones, skill tree nodes, and biomes unlocked, not on total cats collected. Cats are optional collectibles.
Can I get the same cat twice from packs? No. Pack rewards are guaranteed to be new cats. If you already own all cats in a rarity tier, packs will only award cats from the next tier up.
Do legendary cats appear naturally? Rarely, and only at very high follower counts (50,000+). Most legendary cats are obtained through pack purchases.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about Snap the Cat.
What is the rarest cat in the game?
The community has not reached consensus on a single rarest cat. Legendary-tier cats from pack purchases are the most sought-after, with some appearing in fewer than 1% of player collections.
Can I trade cats with other players?
No. Snap the Cat is a single-player game with no trading system.
Do cat poses affect likes?
Yes. Some poses (centered, looking at camera, clean background) score better than others. The tier list factors in pose quality as well as base rarity.
