Dress your cats for maximum likes with the best outfit combinations.
Costumes are one of the three main progression systems in Snap the Cat alongside the skill tree and cat collection. There are 25 or more costumes in the game, each of which can be equipped on eligible cats to boost the likes earned from a photo session.
How costumes work
Equipping a costume on a cat adds a percentage bonus to the base likes from every photo taken with that cat. The bonus varies by costume rarity and by the cat’s own rarity tier. A legendary cat in a legendary costume will earn significantly more than the same cat in a common outfit.
Most cats can wear one costume at a time. A少数 late-game skill tree nodes unlock a second costume slot per cat.
Costume rarity tiers
Like cats, costumes come in rarity tiers:
Common costumes — modest bonus, usually between 5% and 10% additional likes.
Uncommon costumes — moderate bonus, approximately 15% additional likes.
Rare costumes — strong bonus, approximately 25% additional likes.
Ultra-Rare costumes — powerful bonus, approximately 40% additional likes.
Legendary costumes — the highest bonus, approximately 60% additional likes.
Getting new costumes
Costumes are unlocked through:
Pack purchases — the primary source. Each pack guarantees a new costume or cat.
Follower milestones — certain milestone thresholds award specific costumes as rewards.
Skill tree nodes — a少数 nodes in the mid-to-late skill tree unlock exclusive costumes.
Best costume combinations
The most efficient use of costumes is to dress your highest-rarity cats in your highest-rarity costumes. A legendary cat with a legendary costume is your best possible combination for earning likes.
However, since costumes are rare, most players will need to prioritise. The general rule is: outfit your most-photographed cats first. If you take most of your photos in one biome, prioritise costumes for cats that appear in that biome.
Costume sets
Some costumes belong to sets — groups of related outfits that provide additional bonuses when multiple pieces are equipped on the same cat. Set bonuses are small but meaningful in the late game. Information about costume sets is incomplete in the community wiki and represents an area where additional research would be valuable.
Managing costume inventory
As your collection grows, managing costumes can become complex. Prioritise keeping your best costumes on your highest-rarity cats. You do not need to dress every cat — focus on the ones you photograph most frequently.

Can a cat wear two costumes at once? Only with the Extra Costume Slot skill tree node, which is a Tier 3 upgrade. Without it, each cat wears one costume.
Do costume bonuses stack? Yes. A cat’s base rarity, costume rarity, and any costume set bonuses all stack additively.
Should I sell duplicate costumes? There is no selling mechanic. Duplicate costumes are automatically converted into a small token refund.
What is the best beginner costume? The first uncommon costume you obtain is already a significant upgrade. Do not wait for a legendary costume — even a common costume on a rare cat is a meaningful improvement.
